In some unique cases the size and depth of the varicose veins will require advanced treatment options. This consists of a local anesthetic followed by a tiny incision in the skin overlying the varicose veins. A small hook like tool is used to remove the varicose vein. Typically, only treatment bandages and compression stockings are required afterwards. The patient should resume daily activity after the procedure but should avoid strenuous/heavy activities for the next three weeks. This procedure is done in conjunction with Endovenous laser and radiofrequency ablations.
