Two Locations in San Antonio
Medical Vein Clinic will have two clinics in San Antonio in 2023. Our original spa-like clinic is on Isom Road near the San Antonio Airport. In the Summer of 2023, we will open a second facility in northwest San Antonio off 1604, in the Alamo Ranch area.

Essential Functions:
- Review daily schedules, obtaining charts and charge visits, responsible for ensuring charge visits completely coded and ready for physician signature
- Perform patient history, assessment of current complaint, vital signs measurement and document in medical record and provide direct patient care
- Maintain patient confidentiality, HIPAA and OSHA compliance
- Triage patient to ensure productive office flow
- Assist with check out instructions in order for front office to schedule next office appointments
- Stock and set up exam room for patient care
- Perform needed equipment maintenance and upkeep to ensure good working order of medical equipment, sterilize equipment and supplies, using germicides and autoclave
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize reusable instruments and packs
- Assist physicians by setting up for procedures and exams, compression garment fitting and wound dressing care, etc.
- Document all transactions, phone conversations, treatments and orders in the patient medical record
- Review medical records (labs, x-rays, pathology reports, CT scans, MRI, etc) and bring to attention of physician
- Patient education on pre and post-operative instruction for patients, ensuring that patients know what to expect during and after procedures
- Promote good communication and team effort among staff, physicians, management, patients, fellow employees and public
- Develop specific goals and plans, keeping up-to-date, applying new knowledge to prioritize, organize and accomplish your work
- Adheres to policies/procedures of organization

Seeking full-time registered Vascular Sonographers—-outpatient career position for lower extremity venous and arterial ultrasound studies. Responsibilities:
- Performs lower-extremity venous and arterial ultrasound studies in an outpatient clinical setting
- Provide quality images to assist the physicians in determining the best patient care (includes completing detailed reports

- Schedules, coordinates, and reschedules patient appointments
- Contacts patients and confirm upcoming appointments
- Register patients in a prompt, pleasant, and helpful manner
- Verifies necessary patient demographic and insurance information
- Completes call notes and call reports as necessary and updating them in the
- EHR and other call logs
- Collects and posts patient payments
- Scans medical records, assigns records in EHR system
- Answers telephone, screens calls, takes messages, and coordinate with other departments

- Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits of prospects/ referrals and determines rate requirements as it relates to in- or out-of-network coverage on a daily basis in an accurate and timely manner
- Communicates patient benefits in a timely manner using the appropriate systems and associated software application as found in patient notes, tasks, workflow, email and or phone calls
- Documents and forwards patient deductibles, out-of-pocket expenses, life-time maximums, and patient responsibility to agency in an accurate and timely manner
- Reviews and replies to urgent requests in a timely and accurate manner
- Obtains all authorization as needed from payer for services ordered/requested in a timely manner
- Documents specific details related to the authorization including effective and end dates using the appropriate system and associated software application via patient notes, authorizations, tasks, workflow, phone calls and/or email
- Maintain patient confidentiality, HIPAA compliance - Serves as a liaison between the clinic and the payer on a regular basis
- Coordinates and communicates any changes or updates from the payer in a timely manner

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for diagnostic and therapeutic management of patients with various manifestation of venous insufficiency, arterial disease, dermopathies, lipedema, and lymphedema to include: complete medical history, conducting evaluations and physical tests, establishing diagnoses utilizing medical ultrasound, and developing and overseeing plans of care
- Completes medical documentation on patients along with appropriate referral
- Educate patients on the current disease state
- Evaluate ultrasound study results and communicate findings to patients
- Provide follow-up treatments and care to patients in accordance with protocols established by physicians to include medication prescription and management
- Promote the overall mission while overseeing clinical staff and working with interdisciplinary providers
- Handle communications between patients, providers, DME (durable medical equipment) and other stakeholders
- Consistently deliver optimal treatments to patients
Successful Candidate Should Possess:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in vein or lymphatic disease, wound care preferred (new grads will be considered)
- Prior experience in a private practice clinic setting (preferred)
- Current state license
- Must possess active Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Strong oral and written communication skills (Spanish fluency a plus)
- Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
